  • Additional Director (OG-6) - Museum, Art Gallery and Archives Department

The following are a few of the incumbent's primary duties, however they are not all included:

  1. to take care of the Museum's general management and administration.
  2. to organise temporary as well as permanent exhibitions to give the general public and students a chance to learn about the history of SBP and Pakistan.
  3. To build new coin, currency note, and stamp collections for the museum by meeting with private collectors who come to the museum to sell their collection, researching and confirming their holdings, and receiving the required approvals from the advisory committee before being forwarded to the acquisition committee.
  4. to develop the rules and regulations necessary for the effective administration of the museum and its holdings.
  5. to make sure the history museum building is properly maintained and receives any necessary repairs in compliance with the Venice Charter.
  6. to oversee the SBP and SBP BSC's archives and record management, as well as the preservation, digitalization, and online accessibility of the existing materials.
  7. to create plans for the expansion of the museum, which would involve creating and purchasing new collections and installing new exhibits.
  8. to manage and maintain the collections and artworks in the museum. To train the personnel that is employed to work in the SBP Museum building, utilising personal skills and experience to teach them the methods and approaches of preserving the collections.
  9. to carry out significant research on coins, money, painting collections, collection restoration, and collection upkeep.
  10. to create the publications that the museum department publishes each year.
  11. to oversee the collection's cataloguing and digitization.
  12. to gather information about the history of the nation and SBP and efficiently present it to visitors.
  13. to plan various training initiatives and approaches for managing museums and cultural heritage.
  14. to oversee and direct various educational programmes, exhibitions, and other events for the general public, schools, etc.
  15. to develop and create the annual budget necessary for the efficient operation of the museum.

Eligibility Criteria:

Education: Master's or PhD degree from a HEC-recognized institution or from a respected international university in general history (numismatics as a major), anthropology/archaeology, or museology.

Age: maximum age of 50 as of the application deadline.

Experience: a minimum of 15 years of experience, at least 10 of which must be in a related sector and at least 5 of which must be in a middle management position. At least two research pieces in a reputable journal, as well as at least one catalogue on the coinage of the Indo-Pak region. Knowledge of paper conservation and archives will be advantageous.

Compensation: Competitive benefit package, in accordance with State Bank regulations.
